Trumpeter 00323 1/35 British Challenger II MBT Basra 2003 The Vicker Challenger 2 is an advanced main battle tank developed by the UK company, Alvis Ltd. The UK ordered 127 Challenger 2 tanks in 1991, followed by an additional 259 in 1994. Oman also placed orders for 18 tanks in 1993 and 20 more in 1997. The tank entered service with the British Army in June 1998, with the last of the 386 units delivered by April 2002. Deliveries to Oman were completed in 2001. This remarkable tank has seen operational service in various conflicts, including Bosnia, Kosovo, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Department Code: 3631
